Updated 2026-09-16. The most important page on this website and the one we most want you to actually read.
These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Gelagen is a dietary supplement and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
1. Not Medical Advice
Everything on shop-gelagen.com is general information. None of it is medical advice, none of it has been tailored to your situation, and reading a web page does not create a professional relationship with anybody. Do not use any of it to work out what is wrong with you, to talk yourself out of an appointment, or to alter a prescription somebody wrote for you.
Take your own circumstances to a qualified clinician, and never postpone care on the strength of anything published by a company that sells supplements, ours very much included.
2. Not Approved, And Nothing In This Category Is
Dietary supplements in the United States are regulated under food law rather than drug law, which means no supplement from any brand carries FDA approval. Any product claiming otherwise is misrepresenting its position.
The plant that produces this formula holds an FDA registration and works to Good Manufacturing Practice standards. A registration tells you the regulator has the plant on file and may inspect it. It says nothing about the product leaving the building, and that gap matters enough that it is repeated on the product page.
3. Not A Treatment
Gelagen supports skin, hair and nails nutritionally. It is not a treatment for acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, dermatitis, alopecia, telogen effluvium, thyroid disease, diagnosed deficiency states or any other medical condition.
Every condition in that list has real treatments behind it and most of those treatments are effective. If something on your skin is painful, spreading, bleeding, changing colour or simply not resolving, that is a clinician rather than a gummy — and we publish a list of when to go.
4. Specific Cautions
Vitamin A, 630 mcg per serving. Do not take Gelagen if you are pregnant, might be pregnant, are breastfeeding or are trying to conceive unless your doctor approves it. A large preformed vitamin A intake during the earliest weeks of a pregnancy is capable of causing birth defects. Raise it as well if a multivitamin in your cupboard carries vitamin A, or if a retinoid has been prescribed to you, since the published limit is a limit on everything added together.
Biotin, 5000 mcg per serving. At that level biotin disturbs a long list of immunoassay tests, thyroid panels and cardiac troponin included, and the distortion can run high or low. Say out loud, before a needle goes anywhere near you, that you are taking a supplement carrying 5000 mcg of biotin.
Further cautions, including the zinc and copper interaction and the folate masking issue, are set out on the cautions page and on each individual nutrient page.
5. Who Should Not Take It
This formula is built for adults, so nobody under eighteen. It is off the table during pregnancy, while nursing and while trying for a baby unless a doctor has said otherwise, and off the table alongside a prescribed retinoid unless the prescriber agrees. Skip it if anything printed on the jar is something you react to, if your liver is being treated for anything, or if a clinician has told you to hold your intake of vitamin A, biotin, folate or zinc down.
6. Results Cannot Be Predicted
Outcomes differ wildly between people and a proportion of readers will see nothing whatsoever. How old you are, what you eat, how much you sleep, how much sun you get, your hormones, your prescriptions, your genes and how reliably you take it all move the result. No page on this domain promises you anything.
Customer messages published here describe individual experiences. No average is being reported, no evidence is being offered, and none of it forecasts what will happen to you. The portraits printed beside them are illustrative stock images rather than the writers themselves, which that page states in its own opening paragraph.
7. If Something Goes Wrong
Put the jar down and get medical advice if a rash appears, if you start itching, if your face or throat swells, if breathing becomes difficult, or if nausea or headaches arrive and stay. Where any of that is severe, dial your local emergency number rather than opening an email. A suspected reaction to any dietary supplement can also be logged with the FDA through the MedWatch programme.
8. Affiliate Disclosure
The order buttons here hand you over to the official checkout, and if you buy something this site may be paid a commission for it, without a cent being added to your total. Your price, your window and your legal rights are identical either way, and nothing on this page was written differently because of it.
9. Questions
Raise any of it with us at [email protected]. The one thing we cannot answer is whether this suits you specifically. That takes somebody holding your medical history, and the appointment is worth making.
