I bought the six pack because I am stubborn about finishing things, and for the first eight weeks I was fairly sure I had wasted the money. The nails changed somewhere around week nine — the new growth stopped peeling at the corner and I stopped filing them down to stubs.
Skin I am less certain about, because I also started wearing sunscreen daily in the same month. This site keeps telling people to change one thing at a time and I ignored it.

Gelagen gummies for skin, hair and nails
Two berry chewables in the morning. A pectin base rather than gelatine, a number printed beside every nutrient we declare, and no collagen in a product whose name suggests otherwise — we explain that decision rather than hide behind it.
Single payment, no subscription, no stored card. Free US delivery on three and six bottle packs.

These are our own label claims. The complete allergen and ingredient statement is printed on the jar you receive, and that statement is the one to read if you have a food allergy.
What Gelagen Is, And What It Actually Does
Six sentences of honesty before any of the marketing: what is in the jar, and the one thing the name implies that is not true.
A bottle of Gelagen holds sixty berry-flavoured gummies set with fruit pectin. Two a day is a serving, thirty servings is a month, and that arithmetic is why our packs are described in months rather than in bottles.
The name deserves an immediate answer: there is no collagen in here. Collagen swallowed as a supplement is taken apart into amino acids in the gut like any other protein, and it does not travel to your face as collagen. Your body assembles its own, using enzymes that will not turn over without ascorbate. So we put vitamin C on the label and leave the assembly to the machinery you already own.
Everything else on the panel follows the same reasoning. Nothing on it is unusual. These are the cofactors that skin, hair and nail tissue draw down continuously while they are being rebuilt, at amounts we print rather than gesture at.

Where Gelagen Tends To Show Up First
In the order people actually report them, with the honest limits attached to each.
Nails, usually first
A nail is the most legible tissue you own. It grows about three millimetres a month, it does not remodel once made, and it keeps a physical record of what was available while it was being built. Watch the growth near the cuticle, not the old tip.
Hair that breaks less
Almost nothing shifts how fast hair grows — that is set by your follicles. What nutrition can influence is how well a shaft is assembled and therefore how much of it survives washing, drying and being tied up. Reports are about the drain, not the length.
A barrier that stays comfortable
Skin holds water with a wall of cells set in a fatty mortar. When that wall is built well, skin stops feeling tight after washing. Vitamin D and vitamin E both have roles in how it is made and maintained.
Tone that reads less tired
The change people describe is rarely dramatic and rarely fast. It is usually that their face stops looking tired in photographs: a little more even, a little less flat under indoor light. Nutrition works on what gets built next, not on today's surface.
Everyday oxidation, handled
Sunlight, pollution and ordinary metabolism all throw off reactive molecules that attack membrane fats in chains. Vitamin E ends those chains by absorbing the hit, and vitamin C puts the vitamin E back to work afterwards.
Something you will still be doing in March
The unglamorous one, and the only one that decides the outcome. A berry chewable beside the kettle gets eaten for six months. A powder that tastes like a hedge does not, whatever the formula behind it.
And what none of it is. This is a supplement, not a treatment. Acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea and pattern hair loss are medical conditions with medical answers, and a gummy is not one of them. Our cautions page is blunter still.
What Makes Gelagen Worth A Place On Your Counter
Six decisions, each of which costs us something measurable. That is the only reason any of them is worth listing.
Eight seconds, not fifteen minutes
Routines fail because they ask for time nobody has at 7am. Ours asks for the length of time it takes to chew two sweets, which is the entire reason the format is a gummy and not a capsule.
A number beside every name
There is no proprietary blend on this panel. That means you can add Gelagen to whatever else you take and work out your real total — something a blend makes structurally impossible, which is rather the point of a blend.
Fruit pectin, not gelatine
The gel comes from apple pomace and citrus peel. Nothing in the base is derived from an animal, and the bite is softer than a gelatine gummy for the same reason.
The cautions sit above the price
Two figures on this label need care: 630 mcg of vitamin A and 5000 mcg of biotin. Both are explained on the homepage, not in a footnote under the order button.
A window long enough to use
Sixty days is two complete skin renewal cycles. It is the shortest honest period for judging a supplement, and opened bottles count, because a sealed-only policy is designed to be unclaimable.
We publish the disappointed ones
Two of the messages on our feedback page describe nothing happening, and one of those people took the refund. Keeping them costs us sales. Removing them would make the rest worthless to you.
Every Nutrient On The Panel, With Its Number
Nine pages, one per line on the label, including the base that carries the rest.

Biotin
The name on the front of most gummies in this aisle, and the one with the narrowest honest claim.
Biotin has to be bonded onto five carboxylase enzymes before any of them will run, and those enzymes handle the branched-chain amino acids that a keratin filament is largely assembled from. Keratin is what a nail plate and a hair shaft physically are. That is the whole of the mechanism, and it is a real one.

Vitamin C
The only nutrient on this label that collagen production genuinely cannot proceed without.
Freshly made collagen is a limp strand until two hydroxylase enzymes have gone along it and modified specific amino acids. Only after that will three strands twist into the triple helix that carries load. Both enzymes need ascorbate to keep their iron usable, and without it the helix never forms properly.

Vitamin D
Made in your skin by sunlight, and not made at all for several months of the year.
The UVB wavelength that converts a cholesterol precursor into vitamin D does not reach the ground with useful intensity above roughly 37 degrees latitude between November and March. Inside skin, the active form influences how a cell matures on its way to the surface and drives the antimicrobial peptides that make the barrier an active defence.

Vitamin E
The antioxidant that works by putting itself in the way.
Membrane fats oxidise in chains, each damaged molecule attacking the next along the membrane. Alpha-tocopherol dissolves into that same fatty layer and absorbs the reaction, ending the chain instead of neutralising one attacker. Vitamin C then restores it from the watery side, which is why the two are worth carrying together.

Vitamin B12
Nothing in the plant kingdom makes it, and no cell divides properly without it.
B12 donates a methyl group to the enzyme that regenerates folate into a usable form. Take B12 away and folate becomes trapped in a shape the cell cannot spend, which halts the carbon chemistry that writes DNA. Skin feels that before slower tissues do, because it rebuilds its own surface roughly every month.

Zinc
A small number on the label, and the reasoning behind it is the interesting part.
Zinc holds the shape of the zinc-finger proteins that grip DNA and runs the enzymes that remodel tissue while a wound closes. It also competes with copper for the same absorption route, which is exactly why our figure is modest rather than impressive: a daily product taken for months is a different problem from a lozenge taken for three days.

Folate
Named after a leaf, and needed wherever tissue is being built quickly.
Folate's job is to carry single carbon atoms and hand them over where they are needed, and two of those destinations are thymidine and the purines, which are the letters DNA is written in. The basal layer of your epidermis divides about as hard as any tissue you own, so it notices a folate gap early.

Vitamin A
The most studied molecule in skin science, and the one figure here with a real ceiling.
Converted to retinoic acid, vitamin A stops behaving like a nutrient and starts behaving like a hormone: it binds receptors sitting on DNA and switches whole gene programmes on and off. In skin those programmes decide how a keratinocyte matures on its journey upward. It is also the reason this product is not for anyone who is pregnant.

The Pectin Base
Not a nutrient, and still the part of the label most worth reading.
Our gummies set with pectin, the structural fibre in apple pomace and citrus peel, rather than with gelatine, so nothing in the base comes from an animal. Pectin will not gel without sugars present, the amount per serving is printed on the nutrition panel, and we would rather you read that figure before ordering than after.
| Nutrient | Amount |
|---|---|
| Biotin Vitamin B7 | 5000 mcg |
| Vitamin C Ascorbate | 20 mg |
| Vitamin D Cholecalciferol | 10 mcg |
| Vitamin E Alpha-Tocopherol | 7.4 mg |
| Vitamin B12 Methylcobalamin | 6 mcg |
| Zinc Trace Mineral | 2.7 mg |
| Folate Vitamin B9 | 442 mcg DFE |
| Vitamin A Retinol Group | 630 mcg |
Eight of the thirteen declared nutrients carry a printed amount. The remainder, the pectin base, the colour and the berry flavour are declared in full on the bottle, and the bottle you receive is always the authority over any web page.

What The Science Does And Does Not Say
Three findings hold this panel up. A fourth thing, the one nobody prints, decides whether any of it matters to you.

There is no clinical trial of this gummy. We are saying that in the first sentence because any brand in this category implying otherwise is asking you to accept a claim on trust. What does exist is a long, unglamorous literature on the individual nutrients, most of it describing what happens when one is missing and then restored.
Ascorbate is not optional for collagen. Two hydroxylase enzymes have to modify a fresh strand before three of them will wind into a load-bearing helix, and both stall without vitamin C. Scurvy loosening teeth and reopening healed wounds is that mechanism failing in public.
Retinoic acid rewrites gene programmes in skin. The active form of vitamin A binds receptors on DNA and decides how a keratinocyte matures on its way to the surface, which is why the retinoid family sits at the centre of dermatology.
Fast tissue notices a gap first. Folate carries the carbon atoms DNA is written with and B12 keeps folate in a usable form. Your epidermis divides about as hard as any tissue in your body.
What none of that establishes is a visible result for someone who was never short of any of it. Closing a genuine gap changes things; topping up an adequate diet usually does not, and we would rather write that on the homepage than let you find it out in week ten.
Four Claims On The Front, Explained Properly
Including the one that means considerably less than the typeface suggests.
Made in the United StatesManufactured here rather than imported and relabelled, which is the only reason we are able to describe the facility standard on this page at all.
FDA-registered facilityThe plant is registered with the regulator and open to inspection. Registration is not approval — nothing in this category is approved — and any label implying otherwise is overreaching.
GMP standardsGood Manufacturing Practice covers the dull machinery of a truthful label: identity testing, batch records, cleaning between runs, retained samples.
No hidden blendEvery nutrient we declare carries its amount beside it. A blend lists impressive names and discloses the quantity of none of them. What People Tell Us After The Third Bottle
Six messages from our inbox, published with permission, edited only for length. Two of them are unfavourable and both are staying.
Eight weeks, taken every single morning, and I could not point at a single thing that was different. I emailed about the refund expecting a fight and got a reply the next morning with the instructions and no attempt to talk me out of it.
Two stars for the product, and I am writing this anyway because the way they handled it was better than most.
Postpartum shedding after my second, and to be fair to them the site says outright that this resolves on its own and that a supplement is not treating it. That honesty is why I trusted the rest.
The regrowth at my parting came in denser than it did the first time round. I am not claiming the gummies did that. I am saying I am still taking them.
I already take a multivitamin and the thing that sold me was being able to add the two labels together. I ended up dropping the multi rather than doubling my vitamin A, which I would never have known to do with a blend.
Four rather than five only because there is real sugar in the base and I would take a version without it if one existed.
Six months. What I want to flag for anyone with a thyroid condition: I mentioned the 5000 mcg biotin to the nurse before my bloods because the bottle says to, and she immediately told me to pause it for a few days first.
Nobody would have told me that if it were not printed. That is why I keep buying here.
My complaint is about storage rather than the product. I kept the jar on a sunny windowsill through August and the gummies fused into a brick. Support told me to move them to a cupboard, which worked, but I think the bottle should say it louder.
Nails better, hair about the same, skin possibly a little more even.
These are individual experiences and nothing more. They are not averages, they are not evidence, and they cannot tell you what will happen to you. We publish no star rating markup anywhere on this domain for exactly that reason. More messages, including the rest of the unhappy ones.

Six Guides That Come With Your Order
We wrote them. None of them is a funnel back to the order button, and one of them argues you may not need a supplement at all.
The Ten Minute EveningWhat the last ten minutes of the day are actually for: order of application, what genuinely needs rinsing, and the argument for three steps done nightly over nine done occasionally.
Facial Massage In Five MinutesA sequence for clean hands and whatever moisturiser you already own, drawn stroke by stroke, with the lymphatic claims separated from the marketing.
Feeding Your SkinWhere each nutrient on our panel occurs in ordinary food and in what rough quantity. The most useful of the six, and the one most likely to talk you out of a purchase.
Tone And TextureWhy pigment clusters, which causes respond to time, which respond to sun protection, and which need a prescription rather than a shelf.
Legs, Movement, CirculationCompression, elevation and walking explained without the pseudoscience, plus the specific signs that mean you should stop reading and book an appointment.
Marks And ScarsWhat the tissue is doing, why colour changes across the first year, what genuinely fades a mark, and how to think about the ones that are permanent.Sent as PDFs within minutes of a three or six bottle order, yours to keep even if you claim a refund, and deliberately without an invented dollar value stamped on them. What is in each one.

Sixty Days To Send It Back
The window opens the moment your card is charged and it covers bottles you have already been eating from. That second clause is the one worth checking on any guarantee you are offered, because a policy that only accepts sealed bottles is a policy written to never be used — and nobody can find out whether a supplement suits them without breaking the seal.
Send back what is left, empties included, and claim what you paid for the product. Return postage is yours. The whole procedure, including the step most people forget, is set out on the refund page.
From The Gelagen Notes
Writing about the parts of this that have nothing to do with a jar.
Questions We Get Asked Most
The ones our inbox sees week after week.
Is there collagen in Gelagen?
No. We answer that on the homepage rather than leaving it to the name. Collagen taken by mouth is digested into amino acids and never reaches skin as collagen; the body builds its own using enzymes that require vitamin C, which is why vitamin C is on our panel.
How many do I take and when?
Two gummies, once a day, ideally within half an hour of a meal because four nutrients on the panel are fat soluble. Chew them rather than swallowing them whole. Sixty per bottle means a bottle is exactly one month.
When will I see something?
Nails first for most people, usually around week six to nine. Hair breakage next. Skin last and most gradually, because the surface you can see today was assembled weeks ago. We ask for twelve weeks before you form a view.
Can I take it if I am pregnant?
Not without your doctor's approval. Each serving carries 630 mcg of vitamin A, and vitamin A intake is watched closely in pregnancy. The same conversation applies while breastfeeding, while trying to conceive, and if you use a prescription retinoid.
Will it affect a blood test?
Yes, potentially, and this one matters. 5000 mcg of biotin interferes with a wide range of laboratory immunoassays including thyroid panels and cardiac troponin. It does not make you unwell; it makes the number wrong. Tell the laboratory before blood is drawn.
Does it contain sugar?
Yes. Pectin will not set into a chewable without sugars and the amount per serving is printed on the nutrition panel. If you manage blood sugar, read that figure before you order rather than after.
Is it suitable for vegetarians?
The base is fruit pectin rather than gelatine, so nothing in it comes from an animal. Strict vegans should also read the colour and flavour list printed on the bottle, which is where the exceptions in this category usually appear.
Will I be charged again next month?
No. Every pack on this site is a one-time payment for a fixed number of bottles. Nothing renews, no card is stored for a later charge, and there is no subscription to cancel.
What exactly does the sixty days cover?
Sixty days from the date your card is charged, covering bottles you have already been taking from. You return what is left and claim what you paid for the product; return postage is yours. The steps are on the refund page.
How long does delivery take?
One to two working days to dispatch and typically five to seven working days in transit inside the continental United States. Three and six bottle packs ship free; on the two bottle pack delivery is calculated at checkout.
Can I take it alongside my multivitamin?
You can, but add the vitamin A and biotin figures together first. Two sources of the same nutrient is the commonest way people quietly overshoot a ceiling, and it is precisely why every amount on our panel is printed.
Who should not take it at all?
Anyone under eighteen, anyone pregnant or breastfeeding without medical approval, anyone on a prescription retinoid without their prescriber's approval, and anyone with a known allergy to something on the label. The full list is here.
